Can I search results within my own site?
Yes, you can integrate Google search box in the top area of your site. If your site is accessed using your custom domain, the search results will be limited within your site. You may enable Google Search from Special Features section of Site Properties.
I have Google search integrated but it doesn't display any results from my website.
If you search using your domain, make sure your site has been indexed with Google. Before your site has been indexed, the Google search box will not display any results.
Can I prevent certain pages of my site from being indexed by the Search Engines?
Yes, you can prevent sets of pages, or individual pages from being indexed by the search engines.
1. You can exclude individual pages, by adding their "page URL" to a 'robots.txt' file
To insert a robot.txt file
in your site:
Open a text editor, such as Notepad and write these lines:
(add the appropriate page URL)
2. To exclude a group of pages, you can move all the pages to a folder first, and add the "folder title" to the robots file. In the example below, we've used "Protected" as the folder title.
2. Save the file as 'robots.txt'.
3. Upload 'robots.txt' as a static file in Control Panel > Site Properties > Special Features > Show Options > Site Static Files.
